In the eighth round of the Fastex Premier League, Charentsavan's "VAN" hosted Vahe Gevorgyan's "Alashkert". Having met with the current champion/cupholder of Armenia, "NOA" in the previous round, where they lost 1:2, "Alashkert" measured their strength in the seventh round, returning home again without points (1:2) with Manuel Tulipa's "Ararat-Armenia".
At the start of the game, “Alashkert” opened the score thanks to Momo Toure. In the first half, Karen Nalbandyan and his teammates play active football, but the Charents team is able to withstand their pressure.
Before the end of the first half, Hrayr Mkoyan and his friends played according to the dictates of the Yerevan club, and during added time, taking advantage of a mistake by the Alashkert defenders, 24-year-old David Kirakosyan equalized the score on the way to the locker room after a pass from Denis Dedechko.
In the first half, "Akashkert" had several scoring opportunities, one of which was converted into a goal, and "Van" was able to create two, one of which was converted into a goal. This match is a fundamental match for Vahe Gevorgyan and his team, as several players led by the young coach played for the Charentsavan club last season, but today they defend the colors of Yerevan's "Alashkert".
In the second half, Artur Danielyan and his friends showed some activity, which stopped after a while and Edgar Piloyan and his teammates returned to their main style of play.
"Van" was more coordinated in the second half and gave "Alashkert" fewer opportunities to approach its penalty area, but the "Yellows" were again fighting for every ball and episode. At the end of the match, "Van" launched an attack with its entire squad, exposing the official line, which Vahe Gevorgyan's boys tried to use, but in the final stage of the attack, they could not stand out with a useful action. In the last minutes of the match, Sidamonidze played the rules in a fight with Serob Grigoryan and Henrik Nalbandyan awarded a penalty kick, which was unmistakably scored by "Alashkert" captain Karen Nalbandyan (90+6), who is currently only two goals behind "Urartu" player Bruno Michel in the scorer list.
Thus, Alashkert returns home with three points, having 18 points and leading the Armenian Fastex Premier League standings, while Van is in sixth place with eight points.
