The president of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Rafael Luzán, has spoken about the tension between the national team and Catalan club Barcelona regarding the situation involving Blaugrana striker Lamine Yamal.
After the national team matches in September, Barcelona head coach Hans-Dieter Flick announced that La Furia Roja was not interested in the players. The German coach was unhappy that Yamal, despite his discomfort, had been included in the national team matches.
Media reports indicated that the head coach of the Spanish national team, Luis de la Fuente, had invited Yamal for the October games, despite the player's request not to do so due to health problems.
"Barcelona is a great club and we coordinate our actions with them. We should not give too much importance to this kind of noise and arguments: we should assess the situation fairly."
"If there is a medical opinion, then everything must be evaluated accordingly. It is important that Spain is first in the world rankings for both men's and women's national teams. I like it when there is a good atmosphere and peace there," - said Lucana, quoted by Cadena SER.
