Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has shared his historic achievement of winning his 250th Premier League game. This happened in the seventh round of the English Premier League, where the Capitals defeated Brentford 1-0.
"Thank you very much, it means a lot to me, otherwise I wouldn't have won such awards. It's a great honour to be on the same level as Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger. I'll take them out for a nice dinner. Maybe not in Manchester, but somewhere sunnier. No, let's do it in Manchester."
"It's a great honour and a pleasure to be part of something that's been written in Premier League history, but of course I thank the club, the players and all the staff I've worked with because there were a lot of games and we did it faster, better and I'm really happy. Let's get to 250 more wins," Guardiola said, according to the City team's official website.
It took the Spaniard 349 games to reach 250 wins, a Premier League record. The previous record was held by former Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson, who reached 250 Premier League wins in 404 games. Arsene Wenger, who coached Arsenal, is in third place with 423 games.
