In the 11th round of the Fastex Premier League, Yerevan's Pyunik hosted Kapan's Gandzasar at home. The team led by Karen Barseghyan has failed to score points in the last five games, while Pyunik has celebrated three victories, suffered one defeat and one match ended in a draw. The teams have met four times so far, and Pyunik has won all of them.
Gevorg Tarakhchyan and his teammates showed activity in the beginning of the match, but did not create any sharp chances. 33-year-old Brazilian Alemao opened the scoring using his technique from a penalty kick scored by Karlen Hovhannisyan.
In the second half, Pyunik, not giving up its activity and changing the playing position of Mikhail Kovalenko, doubled its team's advantage a minute before the end of the regular time of the match. Before that, the most titled club of Armenia was looking for a way to the goal of the Kapan team with a dangerous score. The 29-year-old forward also scored the winning goal in the final game against Universitatea Cluj. Thus, Ararat-Armenia scores 24 points and remains in second place in the standings, losing one point to the leader Alashkert, while BKM is in sixth place with 11 points.
