The newly appointed head coach of the national team commented on his choice in an interview with HFA-TV:
"Initially, the number of invited players was larger. Unfortunately, one of the team leaders, Eduard Spertsyan, cannot help us due to an injury. I have spoken with Eduard, he is very sorry that he cannot join the team and is looking forward to the next training sessions. Hovhannes Harutyunyan and Norberto Balekyan also have injuries. Yesterday we learned that Andre Kalisir, who was also on our list, was also injured.
Lucas Celarayan will also not be joining this training camp, as he has family issues in Argentina. I know that Lucas is one of the most dedicated players on the team, and this time we have honored his request by allowing him to be with his family.
Sargis Adamyan announced that he no longer wants to play for the national team, so we did not include him in the list of invitees.
As for Khoren Bayramyan, this time we did not invite him, but he will also be under our observation, and I do not rule out that he may still be invited to the national team.” The official website of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) quotes the words of the 61-year-old Dutch specialist.
