Arne Slot on his team's defeat

Liverpool head coach Arne Slott spoke about his team's defeat in the fourth round of the English League Cup, where the Merseysiders suffered a crushing defeat at home to Crystal Palace (0:3).

"The club currently has only 15 players at its disposal. In addition, this tournament traditionally serves as a platform for academy players - I felt it was the right decision. The result of the game did not make me change my mind, because even with our starting lineup we have not won many games against Crystal Palace," Slott was quoted as saying by The Athletic.

Liverpool have faced Crystal Palace three times this season and have failed to win. The Merseysiders lost in the Premier League (1-2), failed to beat the Londoners in the FA Community Shield (2-2), in a penalty shootout (2-3) and lost in the FA League Cup (0-3).
