As part of the 12th round of the Fastex Premier League, Gyumri's Shirak hosted Charentsavan's Van. In the last ten matches between the teams, the Charentsavan club has won eight times, with Shirak winning once in October 2023.
In the first half, the team led by Arsen Hovhannisyan showed their typical football and in the 22nd minute of the match, Jesse Aquila opened the scoring. They failed to do more in the last 23 minutes of the first half.
The second half began actively with the team representing Charentsavan and had possession of the ball with a percentage ratio of 62/38%. In the 57th minute of the match, “Van” was awarded a penalty kick, after the ball was approached by Davit Kirakosyan, it did not cross the goal line, but Laura Silva Ferreira, who reached it, equalized the score (1:1). In the 63rd minute of the match, 20-year-old “Shirak” FC student Gagik Alumyan, who brought the penalty kick to his team’s goal, corrected his mistake and scored from the edge of the penalty area, which was defended by Gor Manukyan (2:1). As in the previous one, this time Rafik Misakyan and his teammates did not maintain the status of the winner for long, in the 75th minute of the match, Colombian Jefferson Granada equalized the score (2:2). In the extra time of the match, Van was again awarded a penalty kick, from which former Shirak player Hrayr Mkoyan took the kick.
Let us recall that in this round, two matches were held, which ended with the same score (2:1). The 16-time champion of Armenia, Pyunik, won over CSKA, and in the central match of the round, Ararat-Armenia won over the champion/cupholder of Armenia, Noah.
