Alonso: "The game was pretty even"

Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has commented on his team's defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League. The match ended in a 1-0 victory for the English club.

"The game was pretty even, but at the end we conceded a lot of corners and free kicks."

We looked better in the first half, but in the second half we committed too many unnecessary fouls... As a result, we lost the initiative and had difficulty reaching the opponent's defense.

"The game was even and very different from the one at the Metropolitano, when we lost 5-2 to Atletico. We showed our character and there are many ways to lose," Alonso was quoted as saying by Movistar.
