Barcelona have consulted a Belgian doctor who specializes in pubalgia (chronic pain in the lower abdomen and groin) and has treated more than 3,000 cases in sports to assess the recent injury suffered by striker Lamine Yamal, Mundo Deportivo reports.
The specialist's conclusions are encouraging: he believes the player is in good condition and approves of the treatment plan implemented by Barcelona's medical staff, in terms of physical training and physiotherapy. The specialist stresses the importance of treating the pubalgia as quickly as possible.
However, the footballer must continue to carefully follow the recommendations of doctors and physiotherapists to maintain his physical condition and prevent the recurrence of pain.
Yamal was removed from Spain's 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Turkey in November for medical reasons. This was done without the consent of the national team's medical staff, which caused surprise and discontent among the coaching staff.
