Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has revealed that City striker Erling Haaland actively fought for a move from Paris Saint-Germain during the summer transfer window.
"Haaland is a wonderful guy, very calm, loves his family and spending time with them. We understand each other well. Even when we played against each other, we stayed in touch and often talked after the games."
"When the opportunity arose for me to join Manchester City, he wrote to me. Erling was very insistent on my coming and I am very grateful to him. He is a really good friend. It is good that I play with him because it is very difficult to play against him. [Haaland] is like an alien," Donnarumma was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
Donnarumma has made 12 appearances in all competitions this season, keeping six clean sheets. His current contract with the club runs until the summer of 2030. According to Transfermarkt.com, his transfer value is €40 million.
