Sandro Perković, head coach of Armenian champion/cup winner Noah, reflected on the match against Alashkert in the 14th round of the Fastex Premier League.
The team led by the Croatian coach ended the match with a draw (2:2). Penalties were awarded to Noah's goal, and David Fernandez was sent off in the 21st minute. The main referee was Yura Mahtesyan.
"Armenian football has big problems. The under-21 team hasn't won a single game in the last 5 years, all the youth teams haven't won in the last 3 years, and the national team's 9:1 win against Portugal is no coincidence. The problem isn't with the Armenian players and coaches, because they are good."
A few days ago I was at the Genocide Museum. When you finish your visit and leave sad and moved, you see the Pyunik academy with children playing football. Unfortunately, the children you saw in the museum had no future, but the children of Pyunik do. The children of all other academies have a future. Armenia has high-quality players in Inter and other European teams.
But after such a game against "Alashkert", when so many penalty kicks were awarded, we received a red card... this is not a coincidence. A person can make a mistake once. We scored a goal against "Ararat" in the previous game, but the referee did not count it. "Alashkert" is a good team and deservedly defeated us earlier. But now I would be the first to congratulate them, if everything were fair.
It is the refereeing that is killing Armenian football, it is no coincidence that Armenia is not even close to reaching the World Cup final. I am not saying this for myself, but for the children.
The Armenian championship should be judged fairly, if any other team celebrates a clean victory, I will congratulate them. Tell me when the last stadium was built in Armenia. You won't remember. And our club is building a high-quality stadium, but when the president sees all this, maybe he will say, why am I doing this, all this?
