Carragher: "I would like Salah to show himself as a leader"

Former Liverpool and England defender Jamie Carragher has commented on the performance of Merseyside forward Mohamed Salah as Liverpool lost 3-0 to Nottingham Forest in the 12th round of the Premier League.

"The most important thing for Liverpool this season is not the future of Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold. The most important thing is Liverpool winning the Premier League. That is more important than any of those players. If Salah keeps making comments, or his agent keeps posting symbolic tweets, that is selfishness - it means they are thinking about themselves, not the football club."

"I would like Salah to show himself as a leader, as one of the Liverpool legends, to come forward and speak for the team. He shouldn't always be the captain of the team. But the manager is obviously under threat of dismissal. With the results you mentioned, any manager, if his team was in the last four or in the relegation zone, would be under pressure," Carragher said, according to Sky Sports.
