Liverpool head coach Arne Slott has commented on the reaction of his team's Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah.
"He has every right to feel that way. As for me, I certainly didn't feel it until Saturday night. Because, as a rule, when a player stops playing, he doesn't like the coach that much. At the same time, he has always shown great respect for my staff, his teammates and has trained very hard. So, to some extent, it was a surprise for me to hear his comments after the game.
"But, as I said, this is not the first or last time that a player who is not getting playing time, I don't know if he was excited or not, says something like that. My reaction is also understandable: he is not with us today," Slott was quoted as saying by the club's press service.
Salah has made 19 appearances for Liverpool this season, scoring five goals and providing three assists. The striker's current contract with the club runs until the summer of 2027.
