Spain has announced that Araujo may never play for Barcelona again.

Juanma Castaño, a journalist for the leading Spanish publication COPE, has stated that Barcelona central defender Ronald Araujo may no longer play for the Blaugrana.

 "Araujo's problems are more serious than they seem. He may never play for Barcelona again," Castaño was quoted as saying by COPE.

 It is noted that the Uruguayan has been struggling with psychological problems for some time and admitted that in his current state he is unable to compete at the level that Barcelona demands of him. It was previously reported that Araujo had asked Barcelona for unlimited time to recover from his emotional state, which had deteriorated significantly after the Champions League match against Chelsea, where he received a red card in the 44th minute, and the Blaugrana lost 0:3.
