Former Liverpool midfielder and captain Steven Gerrard is "very keen" to return to Merseyside and is ready to take over as interim manager if Arne Sloot is sacked, Football Insider reports.
According to the source, the Reds have previously held internal discussions about a possible temporary appointment of Gerrard. However, if Liverpool offer the job, the Englishman will have to give up a significant part of the income he earned while playing for Saudi Arabia's Al-Ittifaq due to tax obligations. It is emphasized that this situation will continue until at least April, when the current tax year ends.
