World and European weightlifting champion Nazik Avdalyan has issued an official statement addressing the recent rumors surrounding her name and speculation about her possible political ambitions. The wave of rumors had increased especially after her meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
The famous athlete categorically denied rumors about entering politics on her Facebook page, clarifying the direction of her current activities.
"If I ever decide to enter politics, the public will know about it directly from me. You will not learn that news from false sources," Avdalyan noted, emphasizing that he has no such intention at the moment.
Avdalyan said that his attention and efforts are focused exclusively on public activities. He is implementing a project aimed at popularizing sports in the regions.
"The project has a clear goal: to create opportunities for children and youth to engage in sports, develop a healthy lifestyle, and strengthen sports infrastructure in the regions," the champion wrote, adding that such large-scale initiatives naturally also require state support.
Nazik Avdalyan called on people not to believe fake pages and “false press,” noting that she is busy with her work. She also urged people to follow the official page of the “Nazik Avdalyan Foundation” to learn more about her activities.
