Chelsea manager Liam Rosenquist has commented on the 3-2 defeat to Arsenal in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final. The return leg will take place on February 3.
"I am proud of the courage of the players who tried to implement some aspects of my instructions."
I have been here for six days and we have played two games in that time. I am not asking for extra time because I think the team is strong enough to win, but I also need to contribute to the team's performance. Otherwise my status here will be redundant. I want us to play at a high pace, be decisive, control the game and dominate.
"Today we created chances on the counter-attacks, but also in developing our style of play and possession, which is very encouraging against a very good defensive team. I am very encouraged by what I saw today. I am not happy to lose any game, but in terms of preparation for Saturday there are many things I can show the players to help them continue to improve," Rosenior was quoted as saying by Chelsea's official website.
