Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson's transfer to Tottenham Hotspur has fallen through, journalist and insider Ben Jacobs has reported on social media.

According to the source, the Merseysiders have informed Tottenham manager Thomas Frank that they have not yet found a replacement for the 31-year-old Scot and will therefore not confirm the transfer. Negotiations are underway regarding the Scot's departure, taking into account the interests of both Robertson and Liverpool.

Liverpool have reportedly accepted a bid of more than £5m (€5.7m) from Tottenham, including bonuses, and have discussed bringing Greek striker Konstantinos Tsimikas back, but have decided to scrap the idea for now. Robertson's transfer status could be affected by the transfer window due to change at the end of January. The defender is open to a move, although he is not insisting on it.

Robertson has been at Liverpool since the summer of 2017. During this time, the defender has played in 364 games in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and providing 68 assists. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is 12 million euros.
