Qarabag head coach Gurban Gurbanov commented on the upcoming match against Newcastle United in the 2025/26 Champions League play-offs. The match will take place today, February 24, with kick-off late at night Yerevan time.
"We analyzed the first game. In the return match, we need to be more careful and responsible. We will try to perform well away from home. This is a tournament where, as the team progresses, the level of the opponents also increases," Gurbanov was quoted as saying by UEFA's official website.
Let us recall that the first play-off match held in Azerbaijan ended in a crushing defeat for the hosts, with a score of 1:6. Let us add that Karabakh qualified for the Champions League play-offs for the first time in its history.
