Former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira has responded to the idea of holding a new fight with the number one ranked Armenian athlete in the same weight class, Arman Tsarukyan.
"I think I beat Tsarukyan, but the judges gave him the win. That's in the past. I'm aiming for the title and I'm not thinking about a rematch with Arman. I deserve the opportunity to fight for the belt. Tsarukyan has already been given that opportunity, but he didn't use it," Oliveira said.
It should be noted that Oliveira lost to Tsarukyan at UFC 300, after which the Armenian athlete received a title fight against Islam Makhachov. The fight was supposed to take place in January 2025, but Tsarukyan was out of the fight due to a back injury.
