Brazilian referee Edu Gaspar is leaving his position as head of football at Nottingham Forest, The Telegraph reports.

According to the source, Edu is banned from training and entering the home stadium: he has already missed the team's last three games.

Edu arrived at the club in July 2025, having established a reputation as a successful manager following his time at Arsenal. During his eight months in charge of Forest, he saw four managers replace him, starting the season with Nuno Espirito Santo, followed by Angelos Postecoglou, Sean Dyche and current manager Victor Pereira. During this time, around £200 million (€232.4 million) was spent on transfers, but the results were unsatisfactory.

Nottingham Forest are 17th in the Premier League with 28 points this season. Edu's last game, which he watched as an outsider, was a 2-2 home draw with Manchester City. The Brazilian's official departure is expected to be announced before the end of the season.
