FIFA FORBIDDEN URARTU FROM REGISTERING NEW FOOTBALL PLAYERS

06 March 2026 | 15:41:08 | 11

FIFA has banned Yerevan's Urartu from registering new players for three transfer windows starting March 5, 2026, reports  the Budilnik Tiknizyana Telegram channel.

Typically, such bans are used as a precautionary measure. If the club resolves its issues, the ban will be lifted early.

For example, the transfer ban on First Division club FC "Mountainous Artsakh", which was imposed by FIFA in November 2025, was lifted in February 2026.

At the moment, in addition to Urartu, there is also a transfer ban in Armenia for Lori and West Armenia clubs, which do not have teams in professional leagues.

Let us remind you that Urartu is in second place in the Fastex Premier League standings with 29 points.
