In the 17th round of the Fastex Premier League, Charentsavan's Van hosted Yerevan's Ararat. This match was the first for Hrayr Mkoyan and his teammates in the spring part of the current season; Ararat played one official match in the quarterfinals of the Armenian Cup (0:3).

The 17th round started yesterday, March 6, with the match "Gandzasar" - "Urartu" (2:2), where the Kapan team was winning 2:0 thanks to the goals of Shunto Canada and Brugel Mariano Berto, but "Urartu" sent two goals to the opponent and the goal defended by Nikita Lobusov. The goals for the Yerevan club were scored by Anton Bratkov and Narek Aghasaryan. Today, the match "Alashkert" - "Ararat-Armenia" is also scheduled, which will be held at the "Republican" stadium named after Vazgen Sargsyan in Yerevan.

In the first half, Van and Ararat played inactive football. According to AFSCORE statistics, Ararat had 53/47% possession, the Yerevan team again had an advantage in shots (35/22), and dangerous goals: 15/9.

The last two games between the teams ended with a victory for the Charentsavan club.

In the second half, there was no activity as in the first. In general, the teams offered each other a fair fight. The referee of the match, Yura Mahtesyan, showed one yellow card, a booking was made to the young player of “Ararat”, Aram Aslanyan, who will celebrate his 21st birthday in a few days. In the online table, “Van” has 23 points in its assets and occupies the sixth place in the tournament table, “Ararat” closes the table with four points.

Van, having had no scoring chances for almost the entire match, scored in the 77th minute from a pass by Benik Hovhannisyan, when Mauro Dos Santos scored the goal for Ararat (1:0). The Yerevan team restored the balance of the score in the 85th minute thanks to Clyne Dombila's goal (1:1), which was the first since Portuguese Ricardo Dionisio took charge of Ararat. During the added time of the match, the guests put an end to the match with a penalty kick by Mamadou Dombila (2:1).

Ararat last defeated Van in a clean sheet in February 2024. Thus, Ararat brings its points tally to six, but remains in tenth place, while Van is in sixth place with 21 points.
