In the second leg of the quarter-final round of the Armenian Cup, Andranik hosted Syunik. The first match between the teams ended in a goalless draw.
A few days ago, the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) awarded a national license to Petros Afajanyan and his teammates, meaning that Syunik will play in the Fastex Premier League next season. The Kapan-based club is currently in second place in the Armenian First Division standings with 52 points.
The guests started the first half actively and in the 20th minute of the match, the Kapan team opened the score thanks to a goal by Petros Afajanyan (1:0).
After being the loser, “Andranik” showed even more aggressive football, it took them nine minutes to restore the score, in the 29th minute of the match, Michael Ndidi made the score (1:1). After the score was tied, both teams were in a hurry to score a second goal, as the game pin is a ticket to the semi-finals, and four minutes before the end of the regular time of the first half, Aram Voskanyan’s boys took the lead in the score thanks to Erik Petrosyan’s goal (2:1).
The second half was again full of events. In the 61st minute of the match, Vache Hakobyan of "Andranik" made the score 3:1, after which six minutes later, "Syunik" 26-year-old football player Armen Hovhannisyan reduced the score difference to 3:2, then in added time, Honor's Justin Kamil, who came in as a substitute the day before, scored a double in the 90th + 4th, 90th + 6th minutes, making the score 5:2 and putting an end to the match.
Thus, "Andranik" qualified for the semi-finals of the Armenian Cup for the first time in its history.
