Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed a report from renowned insider Fabrizio Romano that the club has offered 29-year-old Spanish midfielder Rodri a new contract.
"I know what the club wants from Rodri: they want him to stay, stay and stay again. Do I think he will stay? I think so. I'm always positive about it, but in the end... I don't know," Guardiola was quoted as saying by Fabrizio Romano, referring to City Xtra on X's social media.
It was previously reported that Real Madrid were interested in the player. Rodri's current contract with the club runs until June 30, 2027.
The midfielder has scored two goals in 28 appearances for Manchester City in all competitions this season.
