Real Madrid has expressed its condolences on the death of former Shakhtar Donetsk and Romania national team coach Mircea Lucescu. He had previously been diagnosed with an acute myocardial infarction and his condition worsened on Sunday, April 5.
The president and board of directors of Real Madrid deeply mourn the death of Mircea Lucescu, former coach of the Romanian and Turkish national teams. Real Madrid extends its condolences and sincere sympathy to his family, colleagues, clubs and all his loved ones.
Mircea Lucescu, who coached numerous clubs across Europe, has died at the age of 80. "May he rest in peace," said a statement from Real Madrid's press service, published on the team's official website.
