A controversial episode occurred during the match between Ararat and Shirak in the 25th round of the Fastex Premier League on April 4. According to the Yerevan club, the head referee of the match made the wrong decision.
The club's statement is below:
Ararat Football Club announces that it intends to file a complaint with the Football Federation of Armenia and, if necessary, the FIFA Refereeing Committee regarding the controversial incident recorded during the Ararat-Shirak match of the 25th round of the Fastex Premier League on April 4.
In particular, the club points to the incident that occurred in the 29th minute of the game, during which, according to the club's assessment, a penalty kick should have been awarded to Ararat, but the referee did not make such a decision.
"Ararat" Football Club emphasizes the importance of fair competition and transparency of refereeing decisions, being convinced that a detailed analysis and proper assessment of such cases will contribute to improving the quality of refereeing and strengthening public trust in the championship.
In addition, the club requests that the relevant authorities investigate the possible match-fixing nature of the match and possible refereeing actions that undermined the fair play of the game.
The club will attach the relevant video recordings and official justifications to its application-complaint, demanding that official proceedings be initiated in accordance with the established procedure and a comprehensive investigation of the issue be conducted."
It should be noted that the people of Gyumri responded to this statement, which stated: "The Armenian Football Federation led by Armen Melikbekyan and its referees, esteemed FC Ararat, enjoy your unconditional support."
