"Urartu" FC President Jevan Cheloyantsi responded to the statements made by the FFA leadership during an earlier press conference, in which the "Urartu" football club was mentioned.
"I have never responded in this format, and I want to note that if in the future the federation leaders wish to respond to my statements or speak on these topics, I am ready to meet with them publicly with facts and evidence, wherever and whenever they wish, and in any format."
"In the interview, Armen Melikbekyan stated that everything I said about the Professional League in my interview is 0% true, in connection with which I want to state that I can prove the opposite. After these words, I have every reason to call Melikbekyan not only a bad leader of the federation, but also a liar."
In an interview with FastSports TV, I spoke about the creation of the Professional League, noting that I had a meeting with the President of the Armenian Football Federation (AFF) Armen Melikbekyan, during which we agreed that I would meet with the owners of the clubs (27.11.2022), and then he would gather all the owners and hold a meeting with them. Two and a half years have passed, and the date of the meeting promised by Melikbekyan has not yet been set.
Whether intentionally or through their ignorance, what FFA Vice President Armen Nikoghosyan and Secretary General Arthur Azaryan said about creating a Professional League is about something completely different. They mentioned events that happened a year ago, which I talked about in my interview and what I repeated above.
The Football Federation of Armenia gave the impression of working on the Professional League project by holding meetings (02.10.2021 / 09.11.2021), in which the responsibility for creating documents was shifted.
In this regard, I would like to note once again that all the documents of the Professional League project, as well as the proposal for its regulations and format, were created by the legal department of the Urartu football club at the request of the Armenian Football Federation, and not as Nikoghosyan and Azaryan said. All the documents were sent to both the Armenian Football Federation and all professional clubs.
Also, if for Mr. Nikoghosyan the presence of 7 out of 10 Premier League teams in the match is a very small number, then he is also bad at arithmetic."
"Regarding the support for the construction of the stadium, I should note that the Football Federation of Armenia has already helped our club with the implementation of the previous stadium project, pretending that everything is going according to plan."
We didn't ask them for help, Melikbekyan told us that Nikoghosyan would help us with this issue. We agreed, reasoning that they knew better.
And now they think that we will turn to them for some help? In no case are we our enemies. Thank you, but we no longer need such “help.” The club’s press service quotes Jevan Cheloyatsi as saying.
