Garnik Cholakyan, 61 kg, won a bronze medal in the men's competition at the European Weightlifting Championships in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, with a combined result of 275 kg. The Armenian weightlifter also won a small silver medal with a result of 124 kg.
Among those who presented Cholakyan with the award was Samvel Gasparyan, Secretary General of the Armenian Weightlifting Federation, two-time European Championship champion, and World Championship bronze medalist.
The next competition day for our weightlifters is April 16, when 73 kg weightlifter Gor Sahakyan will take to the stage.
