"Ararat-Armenia" won the first match of the confrontation

In the first match of the Armenian Cup semi-final, Yerevan's "Pyunik" hosted "Ararat-Armenia" at the Vazgen Sargsyan "Republican" Stadium, to which they had lost by a large score in the Super Cup tournament a few days earlier. In the first half of the match, Yeghishe Melikyan's men were left with ten men, Sani Buhari was sent off the field.

The Black and Whites went on the attack after the disallowed goal and kept the score alive in the second half, defeating the defending champions 2-0 thanks to goals from Eric O'Cancy and Marius Nubissi. The return match will be held on April 29.
