Henrikh Mkhitaryan assessed the defeat against Juventus
"In the first half, we didn't use our chances. After the break, we didn't play our best, even though we spent a lot of energy, but this is football," said the Armenian midfielder of Inter.
— A few months ago you said that it was impossible to beat Inter. Are you ready to repeat those words now?
-I will always believe in my teammates and our game. Even in the first half we shouldn't have been beaten and we could have scored a couple of goals. We paid for it in the second half. Unfortunately, we couldn't score.
"Our goals remain the same, even as the season progresses. We always fight for titles. If we don't win one game, it doesn't mean we're no longer favourites," the Milan player said.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan also admitted that Inter players don't understand what's happening to them this year.
"It's hard to explain. We don't know what's going on this year. We're fighting against big teams, but we're working to win the games that come our way."
Did Napoli's draw against Lazio on Saturday affect Inter's motivation?
"I don't think so. We don't focus on our opponents; we focus on our own game. Unfortunately, we weren't sharp throughout the 90 minutes, and that's not enough to win matches. We need to work harder and win games," the Armenian footballer concluded.
The goal scored by the 22-year-old Portuguese footballer was the winning goal for Juventus.
Inzaghi's men are second in the standings after this match with 54 points, while Juventus are in fourth place with 46 points.
