The Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) officially announced the head coach of the Armenian national team.
He is Dutch, John Vant Schip.
The 61-year-old specialist's previous workplace was the Greek national team.
The specialist played as a wing midfielder as a football player.
After his playing career, Van't Schip became a youth coach at Ajax. He was assistant to Ko Adriaanse at Ajax from 2001 to 2002, but after Adriaanse's dismissal, John also left the club to become head coach of Twente. In 2002, he returned to the Amsterdam club and managed Ajax's reserve team. In 2008, after Marco van Basten was appointed head coach of Ajax, John left the national team and returned to Ajax as an assistant coach.
On 6 May 2009, following the resignation of Marco van Basten, Van't Schip was appointed interim head coach of Ajax until 30 June 2009, but 20 days later, on 26 May, he was replaced as head coach by Martin Jol, previously manager of Hamburger SV. In October 2009, John took over as manager of Australian club Melbourne Heart, which had been founded in 2008, and Van't Schip became the team's first coach. In the 2010–11 season, Melbourne Heart (since 2014 Melbourne City) was included in the Australian Premier League for the first time.
Under his leadership, Varazdat Haroyan will face the Georgian national team on March 20 and 23. The first match will be held at Yerevan's V. Sargsyan "Republican" Stadium.
