The Armenian weightlifting team will travel to Lima, Peru, to compete in the Youth World Championships. The delegation includes Alexandra Grigoryan, a 55 kg weightlifter, World Championship bronze medalist (Manama 2024), European champion (Sofia 2024) and vice-champion (Kishinev 2025). We have 7 participants in the Junior and Youth World Championships
The Armenian team will participate in the World Junior and Youth Championships with a total of 7 athletes: 5 boys and 2 girls.
The following will compete at the Junior and Youth World Championships to be held from April 30 to May 5 in Lima, the capital of Peru:
67 kg: Hovhannes Hovhannisyan (competition day: May 1, start: 03:30. youth),
81 kg: Narek Mkrtchyan (competition day: May 2, start: 03:30. youth),
89 kg: Valeri Movsisyan (competition day: May 3, start: 01:00. youth)
96 kg: Grigor Ghazaryan (B subgroup, competition day: May 3, start: 22:30. juniors)
+102 kg: Harutyun Hovhannisyan (competition day: May 4, start: 03:30. juniors)
55 kg: Alexandra Grigoryan (competition day: May 1, start: 03:30. youth)
81 kg: Emma Poghosyan (competition day: May 4, start: 01:00. youth)
The coaches of the youth team are Melik Ghukasyan and David Muradyan, the junior team is coached by Yervand Kirakosyan, and the women's team is coached by Taron Tomvasyan.
The head of the Armenian delegation will be Samvel Gasparyan, Secretary General of the Weightlifting Federation.
