Aston Villa have rejected Tottenham's appeal to move their Premier League game as Anger Postecoglou's side look to secure a Europa League final advantage.
Aston Villa have called on the Premier League to reject Tottenham's appeal to have the clash between the two teams at Villa Park next month rescheduled.

Villa also cited their own heavy fixture list in their arguments against the change, saying they have been playing regularly twice a week since April in an attempt to get a grip on the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.
Villa, however, are not happy with the proposal, and BBC Sport reports that the club have written to the Premier League to object, citing a lack of precedent for the division to rearrange matches to help clubs competing in Europe. Furthermore, the match will be Villa's last at home this season, and the rearrangement will force them to cancel many family events they had planned for the occasion.

The two teams were due to meet on May 18 in their penultimate league game of the season, but Spurs announced on Sunday that they had requested that the game be moved to May 15. The London team are aiming to reach the Europa League final and were originally scheduled to face Villa just three days before the decider in Bilbao.
