Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams spoke about the refereeing in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final against Manchester United (0:3).
"I think we came to play our best game and they did that. There are some things that make me question it. Before the penalty kick, the incident started with a handball by Garnacho that the referee didn't notice. Then there was a fight between him and Viviana and with a slight contact she fell. Unfortunately, the referee blew the whistle.
We didn't act very clearly, but there's no point in looking for excuses. The score is 0:3, but we are capable of winning. We have already seen how Lyon created problems in their own field, and we will try to do the same.
"All our work throughout the season speaks for itself. We are on the way to achieving our dream. Our fans always support us. Even when we lose 0-3, they don't turn their backs on us and we will do everything on the pitch," Williams was quoted as saying by AS.
The return match will take place tomorrow, May 8th.
