PSG head coach Luis Enrique has spoken about a crucial conversation he had with the team that changed the course of the team's season.
"If I showed my emotions, I would be sent off the pitch every game. I did analysis to calm down and make sure my players understood that the most important thing is to have the right attitude. A volcano is a disaster for the team. I always try not to talk to the referees because I think it would be a bad example for my players."
I don't remember exactly when, but I had a conversation with the players when our results in the Champions League were disastrous and it was unfair. We had a meeting with the players and the staff to say: we are one of the best teams in Europe. There was a lack of efficiency, but I said: relax, we will continue. The players were amazing.
There is no single reason that explains everything. This is the result of daily work. In the first year we did a great job, but it was not enough. But I told them that if I didn't see a different mentality every day in training, I would leave. "This year, all the training was at the highest level, the players were exceptional," Enrique was quoted as saying by RMC Sport.
In the Champions League semi-finals, PSG defeated Arsenal 3-1 and advanced to the final of the tournament, where they will compete with Inter.
