Valencia has reacted sharply to a recently released documentary about Vinicius, in which the club and its Mestalla stadium are once again criticized for episodes of racist insults directed at the Brazilian, Relevo reports.

The Spanish team condemns the manipulation of images. In particular, this refers to the part in which the word "tonto" (idiot), chanted by part of the audience, is broadcast on the screen with the caption "mono" (monkey), which in this case is a racist term.

According to Valencia representatives, such a change is not true and seriously damages the club's reputation. The club announced that it was seriously considering filing a complaint against Netflix, considering the presentation defamatory.

The club believes the documentary distorts the events that took place at the Mestalla in May 2023 and ignores the efforts made since then to punish those responsible. Valencia insists that an isolated group is behind the racist chanting, a claim that has been accepted by the Spanish authorities and even by Carlo Ancelotti.
