Milan Badel is leaving Genoa. The Croatian midfielder announced this in a farewell letter published on the club's official website. After spending five seasons with the Griffins, one of which the team spent in Serie B, the 36-year-old midfielder is ending his career in Liguria.
The footballer wrote in his speech:
"Thank you, Genoa. It took us time to get to know each other, we saw each other in good times and bad. My impression is that we have always loved each other. And I will never be able to remain indifferent to the word Genoa when I think of our colors. I will keep in my heart all the moments spent in the stadium and I will be grateful for the unforgettable support. I felt privileged and I will be eternally grateful to you for that."
"I would also like to thank our team, the entire world of Genoa, all the presidents, directors and coaches, teammates, medical staff, physiotherapists, fitness trainers, team manager and staff, as well as all the other people who are doing everything they can to protect us in the best way possible," the letter said.
Milan Badel moved to Genoa from Lazio in 2020 for €1.95 million.
Since then, he has made 155 appearances for the Griffins in all competitions, scoring 7 goals and providing 13 assists.
