Rafael Toloa's story at Atalanta is coming to an end. His contract expires in June and will not be renewed, reports Nicolo Sciarra.
It should be noted that Rafael has been playing for Atalanta since 2015, when he moved from Sao Paulo for 3.7 million euros. He became one of the symbols of the Bergamo club, and it was with his active participation that the club's greatest achievements took place: winning the Europa League, regularly finishing in the top 4 and reaching the Champions League play-offs. He has taken such deep roots in Italy that he received Italian citizenship (he is an ethnic Brazilian) and even played 14 games for the Squadra Azzurri.
This season he suffered a fibula injury, from which he is still recovering. He has played only 17 games and made one assist. In total, the defender has played 313 games for Atalanta, in which he has scored 14 goals and made 18 assists. The 34-year-old player is valued at 1.5 million euros by the Transfermarkt portal.
