"Alashkert" defeated the champion, who played with an experimental squad

As part of the final 33rd round of the Fastex Premier League, Alashkert hosted Noah in Armavir and won by a narrow margin.

The newly-crowned champion and cup winner entered the match with an experimental squad, giving playing time mainly to young Armenian players.

The starting lineup of "Noah" included 8 Armenian youth or young footballers.

The match started with attacks from "Noah" and already in the 2nd minute, Brian Mendoza could have put the "eagles" ahead, but he missed from an advantageous position and was unable to upset Valerio Vimercati and his teammates.

After an initial 5-10 minute lead, "Noah" ceded the initiative to "Alashkert" and the four-time champions of Armenia had scoring chances one after another behind Brazilian-Armenian goalkeeper Artur Kongelyan, but the candidate for the Armenian youth national team denied Sargis Metoyan from scoring at least 3 times, but Metoyan's goal did not keep him waiting long.

In the 20th minute, Yuri Martirosyan broke through the Eagles' defense on the left wing and found Metoyan in the penalty area, and Sargis used his fourth chance, as he should have, 1:0 in favor of the Yellow and Blacks.

After the intense opening 20 minutes and the goal, although "Alashkert" continued to attack, they no longer had any real scoring opportunities against "Noah's" goal. Alashkert's attacks were either met with wide shots or they earned corner kicks as a result of the attack, but their plays were not that threatening.

As for "Noah", they only had 3 shots throughout the game, 1 of which was on goal.

"Noah" played with a completely experimental lineup, and the cooperation of the attacking trio (Khudaverdyan-Petrosyan-Karapetyan) did not work. Of course, Rui Mota made a logical and welcome move, which is probably the most positive and important aspect of this match, but "Noah" did not impress like this. The cooperation of the young players did not work, they often violated the rules of the game and received yellow cards (5 yellow cards).

Summing up the match, we should note that it served its purpose for both sides. Thanks to this victory, Alashkert rose to 9th place and ended the season in a good mood, and Rui Mota, although he ended the victorious season with a defeat, took a very important step by giving a number of Noah's young players the opportunity to play.
