Yeghishe Melikyan, the head coach of FC Pyunik Yerevan, has crossed the threshold of 188 matches at the helm of the "Pomegranates". Under the leadership of the 46-year-old specialist, Armenia's most titled club became a two-time champion of the domestic championship and proudly represented Armenian club football in the EURO Cup tournaments.

The Armenian specialist was recognized as the best coach in Armenia in 2024. The 33-year-old club played in the group stage of the Conference League under his leadership. In the 2023/24 season, they became champions, which was the 16th in the club's history.

That year, after a 1:0 defeat against Gyumri in the domestic championship, the team's captain Artak Dashyan (current club "NOA"), who scored the only and winning goal of that match, and Pyunik student Hovhannes Harutyunyan (Ararat-Armenia), left the ranks of the "Pomegranates".

Without these and other players, the 16-time champion of Armenia, eight-time cup winner, and 10-time super cup winner managed to reach the play-off round of the Conference League qualification, where they lost to the Slovenian "Cele" in the aggregate.

Out of 188 matches played, Melikyan has celebrated 111 wins, 43 losses, and 34 matches ended in draws.

We congratulate Mr. Melikyan and wish him new achievements at the helm of "Pyunik".
