Sandro Wagner will become the new head coach of Augsburg. Everything is ready: the final agreement has been reached, the contract will be signed on Wednesday. The agreement is scheduled until 2028, reports Florian Plettenberg.
This will be his first job as a head coach in the Bundesliga. Augsburg managing director Michael Stroll was determined to bring him in as a replacement for Jess Thorup, who was fired a few days ago.
It should be recalled that earlier there was information that Sandro refused to join Hoffenheim. Wagner has been working at the headquarters of the German national team since September 2023. Before that, he was the assistant head coach of the U-20 youth team for several months. Previously, he headed the lower league Unterhaching.
