Barcelona are ready to discuss transfer offers for goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, reports journalist Florian Plettenberg.
The 33-year-old German goalkeeper is fully aware of the club's plans to sign Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia, but for now, Ter Stegen wants to stay with the team. He aims to maintain his number one status in the new season.
It should be noted that Marc-Andre ter Stegen has missed more than 6 months of this season due to a cruciate ligament injury. The goalkeeper has played 9 games for the club in all competitions, conceding 11 goals and not once playing without conceding a goal. If the 24-year-old Spanish goalkeeper from Espanyol joins Barcelona, open competition may begin between goalkeepers for the position of the team's main player.
Ter Stegen is not currently in talks with any other clubs. However, Barcelona, led by club president Joan Laporta, are ready to consider offers for the player.
Earlier, insider Fabrizio Romano wrote that the Blaugrana believe that the club will soon receive the Espanyol goalkeeper's consent for the transfer.
Garcia has conceded 51 goals in 38 games this season and kept 8 clean sheets.
