Tottenham have held preliminary talks with Brentford over the transfer of Brian Mbemo, Sky Sports reports.
According to the source, Mbemo himself is more interested in moving to Tottenham. One of the main reasons is the appointment of Thomas Frank, Mbemo's former mentor at Brentford, as Tottenham's head coach.
It was previously reported that Manchester United's first bid for Mbemo was rejected before Tottenham opened talks with Frank. The Red Devils later made a second, improved offer, but the outcome of further talks is still unknown.
Recall that Mbemo is a student of the French club Troyes. He moved to Brentford in 2019. This season, the 25-year-old Cameroonian has played 42 games, scored 20 goals and made 9 assists. The Transfermarkt portal values him at 55 million euros.
