Benfica player Gianluca Prestianni suffered a sunstroke during a match at the 2025 Club World Cup, RMC Sport reports.
The Portuguese club defeated Bayern Munich 1-0 in the third round of the Champions League group stage. The match was abandoned at the end of the first half when Benfica striker Gianluca Prestianni felt unwell. The 19-year-old player was lying on the pitch with his head in his hands. The medical staff treated the Argentine, applying an ice pack to his neck and bringing him back to consciousness. Prestianni was able to continue the game, but was replaced by Orkun Kekcu in the 55th minute.
Recall that the game took place in Charlotte in the middle of the day, when the temperature reached almost 40 degrees.
