20-year-old midfielder Karlen Hovhannisyan has returned to FC Pyunik after completing his military service, the club's press service reports.
Karlen is a student of the “Pyunik” Academy. In the 2021/22 season, he became the winner of the Armenian U-18 Championship with “Pyunik-05”. In the same season, Karlen Hovhannisyan began playing for “Pyunik Academy”, which plays in the First Group of Armenia.
On May 28, 2022, in the final round of the Armenian Premier League championship, in a 1:1 draw against Yerevan's Alashkert, Karlen made his debut in the main team of Pyunik, which had been declared the champion of Armenia for the 15th time one round earlier.
In the fall of 2022, he participated in the first round of the 2022/23 Youth Champions League with the Pyunik U-18 team, in matches against the French Nantes.
In July 2023, Karlen moved to CSKA, where he played the previous two seasons during his military service. In total, he played 53 games for the army team, in which he scored 4 goals and provided 1 assist.
Karlen Hovhannisyan has also played for the Armenian U-16, U-17, U-19, and U-21 national teams.
