Eduardo Camavinga, who suffered a serious injury in April last year, continued his physical rehabilitation training with Real Madrid during the Club World Cup and could be ready by the end of the tournament, reports sports.fr.
Camavinga could even theoretically get playing time in the Club World Cup quarter-final against Borussia Dortmund. He was included in the team's tournament squad despite missing three months of competition due to a left hamstring tear he suffered in a La Liga match against Getafe on 23 April.
The Frenchman continued his rehabilitation and later joined his teammates for training under Xabi Alonso. Eduardo took part in full training on Friday, the day before the match against the Bumblebees.
For the past three weeks, he has been at base camp in Palm Beach, Florida, while his teammates have traveled to games in various parts of the United States.
Xabi Alonso is clearly relying on the midfielder.
"Camavinga is progressing quickly, he is getting more and more involved in the team game. I don't know if he will be available for the next game or not, but we hope to see him on the pitch very soon. He is a top-class player and we need him."
Recall that Camavinga moved to Real Madrid from Rennes in 2021. This season, the 22-year-old Frenchman has played 35 games, scored 2 goals and made 2 assists. Transfermarkt estimates the player's transfer value at 60 million euros.
