Luka Modric made his last appearance for Real Madrid in the 2025 Club World Cup semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, with the French side winning 4-0.

Luka Modric started the game on the bench and came on in the 64th minute, replacing midfielder Jude Bellingham. The Croatian's contract with Real Madrid was due to expire on June 30, 2025, but it was extended by two weeks to allow him to participate in the Club World Cup.

Luka Modric has been playing for Real Madrid since the summer of 2012. In total, he has played 597 matches for the royal club, scoring 43 goals and providing 95 assists. Earlier, media reported that the 39-year-old Croatian midfielder had already signed a contract with Milan.
