Liverpool eye Newcastle striker as Luis Diaz replacement

Liverpool are ready to sign Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon if Reds winger Luis Diaz moves to Bayern Munich, the Liverpool Echo reports. The English club have rejected the Munich club's latest bid of £58.5m (€67.2m).

The Merseysiders were close to signing the England winger last year, offering £75 million (€86.2 million) for the player. However, the Magpies' bosses decided to keep the player at the club.

According to the source, Gordon is a Liverpool fan and wants to join Arne Slott's team. At the same time, the player grew up in the Everton academy. Last season, the Englishman took part in 42 matches in all competitions, in which he scored nine goals and made seven assists.
