Chelsea are interested in the services of Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini, and Tuttomercatoweb reports that the London club is preparing a formal offer and intends to conduct accelerated negotiations in order to beat potential rivals for the deal.
Despite the interest, Bergamaschi are in no hurry to let go of one of the team's most talented young players. The club has already lost Matteo Reteghi this summer and could lose Ademola Lookman as well, so Scalvini's departure could be an irreparable loss.
According to the source, Atalanta would be willing to reconsider their position if an offer of around 40 million euros were made.
Last season was not easy for Scalvini, who recovered from a cruciate ligament tear but then suffered a shoulder injury against Barcelona and played just eight games (371 minutes) all season.
